That awkward moment when your neighbor suddenly pays you a visit while you happen to be doing housework in a hospital gown.

“No, no… I’m okay, really. Yes, I realize this is a little strange. It’s just so much more comfortable than pajamas. Would you like to come in for a cup of coffee or something? No? Did you come over for any particular reason? No? That seems a little odd, but all right. And now you’re leaving? Okay, well… uh, thanks for stopping by. Woah… Be careful on those stairs there…”

the-sinking-spell:

This is a network for madness + medicine -centric blogs.
What’s welcome here: All things related to the study/exhibition of mental and physical illnesses, treatments, facilities, oddities and histories. Both color and black and white blogs will be perfectly lovely. Academic or personal interests in these subject(s) will be equally embraced. We hope to feature - at first, for now - twelve blogs: Six with an emphasis on mental illness, six with an emphasis on the physical. (As these these two things quite often overlap, we may see a few middle-of-the-road slots emerging, as well.)
You do not have to blog exclusively about madness or medicine (I’d be a hypocrite to require it). You do not have to have a gaggle of followers. You do not have to be following me to be considered, although the purpose of the network is ultimately to make like-minded connections, so following fellow network-ers once you’ve joined is strongly encouraged.
What you will need to do to be considered for the network:
Reblog this post
That’s it. That’s the only rule. Over the next few weeks or so (truthfully, it really depends on how many reblogs this gets), I’ll peruse the rebloggers and contact those we’d like to have with us.

info

For admirers and advocates of medical fetishism in all its varied forms. From Romain Slocombe's broken dolls to J.G. Ballards exhibitions of atrocities (and everything in between), this tumblr exists as a virtual safehouse for those of us who embrace the erotic art of the accident... and, hopefully, a resource for those who've fallen victim to med feti's countless misconceptions.

RE: USER PHOTOGRAPHS/REBLOGS. If we've reblogged one of your photos and you'd rather we hadn't, please don't hesitate to send us a message and we'll take it down as soon as we can. Conversely, we encourage anyone and everyone out there: Please don't be turned off from our site by the use of the word 'fetish.' We're not here to exploit - we're here to celebrate, embrace and study. Love your scars, your bruises, your broken limbs... They're nothing to be ashamed of.

Please don't expect a collection of PVC-clad nurses and dime-a-dozen pornographic stills. You won't find any of that here. Also, none of the images posted here belong to our members unless otherwise specified. ♥ ♥ ♥
